Standard 30 MF is Anschütz’ 2nd generation maintenance-free gyro compass system based on strap down technology. It uses Hemispherical Resonator Gyros (HRG) to measure angular rates and accelerometers. Based on these measurements the system computes heading, rate-of-turn, but also roll and pitch.

Strap-down technology is already well known and proven for many years – mainly in combination with Fiber Optical Gyros (FOGs) or Ring Laser Gyros (RLGs). HRGs come with a significant longer Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) value of 100,000 hours compared to other maintenance free sensor technologies.
Standard 30 MF comes with 5 years warranty.
